Mind you I get very critical of my stitching too. Everyone has to work the way that suits them. The only other way I can imagine knitting for a blanket would be to make long strips like a scarf, not bothering to cast off one square, just carry straight on knitting the next, but it isn't so portable that way,is it?

Enjoy your blanket your way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1901591940157862109.post-51332539365267736552009-01-12T19:05:00.000+00:002009-01-12T19:05:00.000+00:00I did a Christmas Queen of puds with maramalade an...I did a Christmas Queen of puds with maramalade and clemetine zest in it. Life's too short to do things in non fun ways. I suppose another alternative would be to not bind off and just join the next square on top side and make one long scarf like thing (and then sew them together!), but here's the deal, it's your blanket - who made these other folks the blanket police? :)

Delicious looking pudding, thanks for sharing the recipe!Pink Skyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00461126334466346582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1901591940157862109.post-20570938614552094882009-01-12T11:15:00.000+00:002009-01-12T11:15:00.000+00:00You know, I don't think it would have occurred to ...You know, I don't think it would have occurred to me to do anything other than sew the squares together. Maybe people were just trying to help you not criticise you! Surely if you pick up and knit it detracts from enjoying the whole process of watching the individual square grow - finding out it's particular personality before it transforms into something completely different when sewn together to form a whole? Or am I being a bit to fey and fanciful for a Sunday lunchtime?

Great pud by the way!Locket Pockethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16689704503844595835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1901591940157862109.post-36235943935462084122009-01-11T12:03:00.000+00:002009-01-11T12:03:00.000+00:00I also agree with Kitty - you're making the blanke...I also agree with Kitty - you're making the blanket, so its your choice about what to do!

Also, I'd never realised Queen of Puddings was that simple - I thought it was an evil combination of hours of preparation and hours of cooking!
