Startitis

Well being as 2011 is going to be my year of finishing off things, I feel it's only right and proper to make sure I have plenty of things to finish off, don't you?

Startitis is bad at the moment. As bad as it has ever been (I blame the bloody mystery blanket of which I am so bored!)

Yesterday I cast on a sock. Today I cast on a bootie - not the baby kind, a proper grown up bootie. Tomorrow I fully intend casting on either a shawl/wrap type thing or Strand of Pearls - and then the day after, whichever isn't cast on tomorrow is going to be started then.

I'm sorry, but there is no photographic evidence yet. I am far too busy with the needles to think about finding the camera. Maybe tomorrow.

Damn I love casting on!

Thought you were planning on curing this evil disease? Nope? My mistake ;-)

Well, you can't complete something unless you start it, right?

They do say that variety is the spice of life. Your life must be very spicey indeed. Can't wait to see the photographic evidence.

Personally I think it has something to do with it being January. :-) I am trying to figure out at what exact point between casting on and actually knitting one loses interest in a project. If I could figure that out and then just cast on items that were exactly that size I would have solved a huge problem for knitters around the world, myself included!

I think it's perfectly reasonable to be starting lots of new projects. After all, you need to make sure you have enough to last you the whole year, don't you?

Michaela, I'm so glad you're back. Having won one of your give-aways a few years back, and eaten your lovely fudge that came with the prize (all the way to Oregon)I have an interest in your welfare, and was a bit concerned about your blog silence. Of course, it could be that your life had gotten too exciting and wonderful for blog time, but, well...how often does that happen? Enough about ME and my worries. The mystery blanket: I found the jellyfish immediately from the pic (which is to say it looks like one). However, I don't much like the blankie, either. Could you stop now and call it an afghan, or a "throw" for the sofa? Could you just call it a sunk cost and go on to things you really enjoy? Anyway, on a happier note, the owl design on your water bottle cover is the same one my dear mum knit on a hot dish holder about a million years ago. It made me very happy to see it.
So, cheers from Kate in Portland, and do please keep checking in from time to time.
