One down...

... one to go! Here is the first Polly Jean - pretty don't you think? This pattern is miles away from anything I would normally attempt, but boy oh boy am I glad Moogsmum suggested it!

The lace pattern is on a chart - something I have always run screaming from. I don't know if all lace patterns are like this or if this one is just extremely easy to understand and follow. If you have yet to start your Polly Jeans, go on, give it a go, it's much easier than you might think! The pattern is also free on Ravelry - bargain!

This is the first pattern in our Sock Challenge - you have until the end of April to complete it. If you don't manage it, fear not, we shall not send the boys round, but pattern number 2 will be revealed at the start of May (we are busy deciding which one to use - but at the moment, we seem to change our minds every day!)

It looks great! But I really think you should have a "Sub-Club" for people like me so that we can knit a pair of socks a month but of a simpler pattern! Locket xx

(P.S. nearly finished my Jaywalker socks - 2 whole socks! 1 MATCHING pair! In less than a month!!!!)

Ms. L-P, why not just, by decree, start your own Sub-Club? Sock of the month seems to be in the air this year. . .

Oh.....ooooooooh......gorgeous Polly Jean......blimey....I should get a move on!

I'm ready to turn two heels but have come to a standstill for now. Have done no knitting at all tonight and now I'm too tired.

Ho hum - going to have to give myself half an hour or so tomorrow to make a start on those heels.

Grand job Mrs. I'll see you on Saturday to fight over next month's pattern :)

Very pretty, Michaela! The yarn and the stitch pattern are a perfect fit. I can't wait to see what you two socksters choose for your next pattern. :)

And Lucy, congrats!! A pair of Jaywalkers is pretty impressive. (Especially to me, as I'm a bit intimidated by that pattern!)

I am nearly at the heel as well (also 2-at-a-time) but I have never done them this way before, any tips for the heels please moogsmum? I love this pattern and yet I would not have chosen it - not sure why!

Can't wait to see what else you choose for us to get our teeth into!

Thank you for setting the challege girls.

Yes, I did cave in...am now turning the heels...and it is a really pretty pattern, and looks much more complicated than it is.
You've picked a gorgeous colour!

Was digging a suitcase out of the attic this morning for a friend to borrow (why is it my suitcases see so much mor of the wide, wonderful world than do I?) and came acros the "socks" (one 3/4th the way done and the other a full skein!)that I "gifted" to Joan on her 40th. Dare I say that sh will be 41 in April? Best git a'knittin.

Sock challenges - are they decided with light sabres, or at least glowy knitting needles that make a vrrrrmmm sound?

How bizarre - just read Lucy's comment. It seems she has completed two Skywalkers. See? Told ya.

Just saw Lucy flying over in her tie fighter. She was knitting. Darth Vader was following her but she wasn't bothered - 'the needles are strong with this one'.
