Here's the last of this month's squares - this one has really dragged, not enjoyed this one so much. Don't really enjoy doing cables, but hey, it's very pretty and was worth it in the end. (I've sewn it onto the blue and yellow 'envelope' one.)

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow, when I start doing some other knitting. Maybe I'll finish something else off before casting on a new project, but then again, maybe not!

Our heating is on the blink - the pump is making a dreadful noise that sounds like the whole house is about to collapse. So I called out the little man and arranged for him to come on Saturday (as in 2 days ago). I explained to the receptionist that it was not the boiler but the pump, so please don't send the boiler man out because he won't be able to fix it. And guess what - yes, she didn't take a blind bit of notice and sent the wrong man out. So the proper man is coming tomorrow. He left a message on the answer machine to tell me that it was an anytime call and I had to be in from 8 until late at night. Hmm. Highly convenient, thank-you very much Mr Pump man.

Oh, and you know what else? The pump is behaving today and is as quiet as, um, something very quiet...

More clever knitting Michaela! Not sure I like your idea of letting Dot loose on my ripple blanket though - I haven't shown her how to crochet yet!!!

The blanket is eating wool - it uses 2/3rds of a 50g ball for each double row. And the colours I chose for Dot's crochet include the turquoise, orange and yellow that appear earlier in the blanket!

I hope Mr Pumper helps out tomorrow - have you had to take a day off work? If so, think of all the knitting you'll be able to do!

I love that last one - gorgeous!

Yah boo sucks to Mr Pump Man - why is it that peple seem to think it's perfectly reasonable to expect you to just hang about all day waiting for them?!

I bet if you didn't get up until late morning, he'd be there at 8. If you get up well in time, and organise your day around it, he'll be there at around 6pm. Sod's law.

It might have been complicated, but that latest square is a masterpiece.

Your squares are wonderful!! This last one is really pretty; like you, I don't enjoy knitting cable too much - even though it's so effective when its complete! Bx

Sods law with that sort of thing isn't it? I had similar problems with our appalling builder a while back - it takes hours to get hold of him and then he doesn't even bother to turn up!

On the plus, even if you didn't enjoy the last one quite so much, it still looks gorgeus and I'm very jealous at how amazingly clever you are to understand the pattern!
