Sunday pudding

We had chocolate cornflake cakes for pudding last night (I know how to treat my family!) but today's pudding was far more exciting. Have you got this book? If not, I urge you to get it. When I first saw it advertised, I just knew this was the book for me. I long to be a domestic Goddess, it conjours up such lovely images! I have made many things from it, and every one is delicious. And you know what, they aren't difficult either.

So today's pudding is Apple and Blackberry Grunt. Fabulous name there Nigella! She actually uses rhubarb in the book, but my children won't eat that, so we went with the safe alternative. Served steaming hot with custard, this was the perfect comfort food to warm us up after a cold afternoon watching children playing football. It is also quite the quickest and easiest hot pudding you can think of.

That pudding does look really scrummy - but doesn't Nigella just make you want to scream?????? I'm afraid I have to leave the room if she comes on the telly or I think I'd throw something at it - and I'm such a gentle, placid soul at heart!!!

That looks lovely, but honestly, the chocolate-cornflake dealio sounded good to me! How do you make that? Or is this something everyone knows but me? (Quite likely, in the cookery field.)

Fantastic pudding and one of our favourites... although we do use rhubarb. Have you tried the gin and tonic jelly.... and the New York cheesecake?

I love that book and will just have to try that pudding! It looks yummy! My Ali makes me laugh, she says that Nigella wears 'spray on cardigans!'

That pud looks good. Roll on the custard! I often make chocolate crispie cakes for the grandchildren. Have to agree with Lucy a bit about Nigella. Telling us all how to slave over the stove cooking the perfect Christmas then admitting she'd be happy with chips and sauce!!

The Store Cupboard Chococate Cake (I think that's the name!) in this book is my favourite quick and easy standby. Great when you need something in a hurry!!

Oooh that looks deeelicious! I have the blackberries and apples just waiting for that!

I also have the book but haven't had many successes so far. Maybe I should practice more!!

Good godfathers I'm ravenous now! Want to gobble that up. I'm with Lucy in a way - Nigella can be overly verbose - why use one word when you can use four? Ruby shards? Edible Topaz? Still, she has gathered wonderful collections of recipes and her programmes are so sumptuously shot that I can't help watching them. Off to rummage for something sweet - that picture has set me off!
