Stranded Tipsy

Well here's the hat! The brim is huge but the rest of it is sort of OK - shall I just say that it won't mess my hair up when I wear it! I'm very tempted to thread a bit of elastic round the edge - good suggestion there anonymous and Picperfic. This will be the last lot of knitting going on round here for a while now - the cake orders are starting to come in.

Need to make a London Taxi for next week - I made the cake yesterday, but dropped it on the floor before it even got into the oven. Bother. Or words to that effect! So I was going to make another one, but had to do the ironing instead, so thought I'd do it tonight. And then youngest son brought home a letter - his class are doing a cake stall in school and they need cakes sending in for tomorrow. So it looks like the taxi won't get made until the weekend. Why do I do this to myself? Leave everything to the last minute. Put myself under such pressure. Volunteer for all sorts of things... and then while away a few hours on the computer.

It is no good people. I must go and do some work.

Shirring elastic? Might take a little time and effort, but a better effect than anything heavier...and it'll go SO well with your I-cord dreads....my daughter made a gingerbread igloo for the gingerbread house competition at her boyf's work, complete with polar bears penguins and a santa on top...(it was last month!)(yes, we thought that polar bears and penguins lived at opposite ends, but together with santa we were doing poetic licence, it's a very understanding dept of social care...) I just make flapjacks for cake stalls....so easy and so eatable! Fran

Your hat looks lovely! As for putting yourself under pressure - isn't that what we all do? I'm certainly guilty of it - but sadly no good at making fab cakes so I can't offer to help out! (and I 'spose I live to far away in any case!) Lucy x

Baking a cake tonight myself. TLG's b-day party for his daycare class is tomorrow. Though, sadly, mine is going to be very much a WMK cake and NOT a Stash Basket cake.

ps: jauntly 'lil hat, that is!

Pleased to hear that I'm not the only one under pressure! I seem to do my best work when I have no time in which to do it! The hat looks so soft and snuggly...beautiful work and it seemed to take only moments to make too!
