Finished - at last!

It's done. Finally done. Oh it's been a slog this one has - over a year - the Debbie Bliss rib and cable cardigan, knitted in the marvellous Posh Yarn Emily. The yarn is a dream to knit with, but blimey, what a boring pattern. And to be quite honest, I'm not even sure I like it very much. Oh it looks pretty enough off, laying on the gras, but on me is a different matter. It's quite short and rather snug fitting. I knitted the large size, but am I really so big that large is too small?

I do, however, love the fact that I've cast on in a dfferent colour and have variegated buttons and have made a silly flower thing to go on it. My mother in law assures me that I have the flower on the wrong side ('ladies should always wear a corsage on the right dear') but I like it there so tough!

To celebrate finishing something else, I've got new yarn! And no Warren, I didn't buy it. I won a competition over here. Lucky old me! some beautiful silk Regia sock yarn and would you just look at the araucania blues. It's gorgeous! Thank-you so much Barbara. Needless to say I shall be casting on something with that tonight! Socks? Shawl? Scarf? Ooh, decisions, decisions....

well done on winning Barbara's comp, your prize yarn in delicious.
love the flower on your cardie but how you had the stamina to knit a whole garment in rib I do not know, it would have driven me bananas.

I love your little "corsage," and for what it's worth (2 cents?) I was brought up to wear a corsage on the left. Maybe a regional/national thing?
anyway, beautiful sweater, and very sweet corsage! :)

Your cardigan is gorgeous and I love the buttons and the flower. I also love your wool from Barbara - just wish mine would arrive too! I could have walked to and from her shop about 10 times in the time it has taken the post office to NOT deliver it! Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Lucy x
